The leasing of property, I was recently talking to a supermarket owner in Brooklyn, and he had concerns because apparently I didn't know that NYCHA has property that you lease and he's on a month to month lease which is affecting his business because he cannot where the distributors where he gets his supplies do not want to give him anything on credit knowing that he's on a month to month lease.

How much property does NYCHA lease?
Brian Honan
1:38:48
You just asked that?
Eva Trimble
1:38:49
Yeah.
1:38:50
And I'll share my answer.

Good morning.
Eva Trimble
1:38:52
Good morning councilmember.
1:38:53
So we are starting to review all of our commercial spaces.
1:38:59
Many of them face the same physical needs that our residential spaces face, so we've been limited ability to lease them out.
1:39:05
But we are looking to to be more strategic in that area, so we're we're taking stock in inventory of all of our commercial spaces.
1:39:12
Happy to share that with you, and I definitely would would like to get the information about this Brooklyn supermarket.
1:39:17
We do have some supermarkets and other leases on our properties.
1:39:22
I'm not familiar with a month to month setup, so we definitely wanna find out more about that specific case.
Rafael Salamanca Jr.
1:39:26
I appreciate that.
1:39:28
It's not in my district.
1:39:29
We have a mutual friend and he asked me to reach out and I just wanted to see how we can be of help to him.
1:39:35
It's difficult to run a business, a supermarket business knowing you're a month to month and your vendors know that you're in a month to month and they do not want to give him credit so that he can supply his store.
1:39:46
So it's an issue and it's affecting his livelihood.
Eva Trimble
1:39:48
Absolutely, we're happy to follow-up on that.
Rafael Salamanca Jr.
1:39:50
Alright, thank you.
