Director Garodnick discusses two important initiatives related to industrial development and last mile facilities in New York City.
- Began work on the New York City Industrial Plan, the first citywide industrial development plan in city history
- Emerges from Local Law 172, passed unanimously by the city council in 2023
- Acknowledges Majority Leader Amanda Farias' leadership in driving this initiative
- Started development of a last mile facility text amendment
- Will establish a CPC special permit for new last mile facilities
- Aims to mitigate the impact of these facilities on surrounding communities
- Draft version expected to be released in spring 2025
