Council Member Salamanca inquires about the staffing and administration of LPC's grant program. Commissioner Carroll provides details on the personnel involved and the management of funds.

  • Most staff administering the program are city-funded, with only a part-time grant coordinator funded by CDBG money
  • Unused grant funding can be rolled over from one year to the next
  • Projects often span multiple fiscal years, with money earmarked for ongoing work

We understand that there are there's about five, there are around five staff who work on the program.
1:22:08
How much is spent on personnel services cost versus the other personnel, the OTPS cost?
Sarah Carroll
1:22:15
So the staff who administer the grant program are actually city funded staff and so the only grant fund the only fund staff that's funded by the CD money is a part time grant coordinator.
Rafael Salamanca
1:22:31
Okay.
1:22:31
So just a part time coordinator?
Sarah Carroll
1:22:33
Yep.
1:22:33
And the other five staff who oversee the program are city funded.
Rafael Salamanca
1:22:37
Okay.
1:22:38
Perfect.
1:22:38
Are you able to roll roll all unused grant funding from one year to the next?
Sarah Carroll
1:22:44
Yes.
1:22:45
So we and this happens often.
1:22:48
We award grants in one year and we the money is earmarked and the work may begin but it may not be completed in that year and so that money is rolled over and we have a number of projects that have rolled over into this fiscal year.
Rafael Salamanca
1:23:05
Okay.
