District Attorneys highlight the impact of court staff shortages on case processing:

  • Statewide shortage of court reporters, which are essential for case proceedings
  • Lack of sufficient court officers
  • Shortage of judges
  • These shortages in the Office of Court Administration (OCA) significantly slow down case processing

Well, as a former as a former judge, I could tell you, there's a shortage of court reporters statewide.
6:18:25
They don't have enough court reporters.
6:18:27

6:18:29
They don't have enough court officers.
6:18:32
That holds it up and there's a shortage of judges as well.
6:18:35
There's a lot of things that's happening in OCA that they need to help in order to build it up.
6:18:41
That would speed up the cases for us as well, but they have to have the capacity to process you know, to handle the cases and there's a lot of shortcomings there.
