I created a crime strategies unit several years ago.
5:04:22
That crime strategies unit is responsible for getting the largest percentage of the ghost guns off the street in the city from all the boroughs.
5:04:30
And, you know, it's something that we chose to prioritize and chose to work on very closely so that we can get these ghost guns off the street.
5:04:38
And I say that because ghost guns are untraceable.
5:04:41
So they are extremely dangerous when they're being built in the basement of an apartment or a basement of a house or in an apartment next door to our constituents.
5:04:49
And then you have a thirty minute YouTube video that teaches them how to create a gun from the internet pieces that they bought off the street.
5:04:57
And ultimately a lot of people when we arrest them for that say well it's a hobby.
5:05:00
You know what?
5:05:01
Find another hobby.
5:05:02
And that is the message that we always send.
5:05:06
We are getting the scooters off the street in Queens County, just so you know.
