I need to understand for every block, I know that was an initiative that was rolled out, where is that at and how's that going?
2:41:20
I know I know it started in District 14 because that is another district that is plagued by gun violence and poverty and all the things.
2:41:27
And so I would like to know what are we doing around that because that is an initiative that would help change the community relationship and would do the things that we're trying to do.
2:41:36
So let's start there.
Michael LiPetri
2:41:42
Chief Michael Petra, the Chief of Crime Control Strategies.
2:41:45
Just wanna make sure I understand your question.
2:41:47
The precision block program?
2:41:48
Yeah.
2:41:48
Yeah.
2:41:49
So it's in two it's in two precincts right now.
2:41:51
The 4 Sixth Precinct and the 70 Third Precinct.
2:41:54
We measure it just like we measure our zones.
2:41:58
Don't have the same crime reduction that we see in our zones, but they both have substantial crime reduction.
2:42:04
We also see reductions in shootings and we're always looking to expand those those those types.

2:42:10
And I know when I had spoke with, commissioner Parks when it was launched, it was this idea that it would expand block by block.
2:42:16
How are we going with that?
2:42:18
How many blocks have we even included since the launch?
Jessica Tisch
2:42:20
I believe the initiative is now going to be headed up by deputy mayor Kaz Daughtry, and I know he just started in his new role.
2:42:28
So I don't wanna get out ahead of him on where that program is going.
2:42:34
But I know that at the New York City Police Department, we have a lot of confidence in that model and want to see it expanded, we'll be very supportive of that.
