Deanna Logan, Director of the Mayor's Office of Criminal Justice (MOCJ), introduces herself and provides an overview of MOCJ's role in the criminal justice system. MOCJ is described as a think tank that advises on strategies to improve efficiency and fairness in the criminal legal system, as well as an implementing agency that turns ideas into services.

My name is Gianna Logan and I am the director of the mayor's office of criminal justice, affectionately known as MACJ.

I am joined by Nora Daniel who is our chief of staff, Robert Fiato who is our chief financial officer, and Candice Julian, chief operating officer.

Mock j is a think tank that advises the mayor and the deputy mayor of public safety on strategies to improve efficiency and fairness in the criminal legal system.

We also are an implementing agency and we turn the ideas that we come up with into actual services that benefit our communities and residents.

It's between all of the stakeholders, so we bring together entities involved in the legal system, sister city agencies, state actors, nonprofit partners, and community members to address issues that undermine the stability of our neighborhoods.
