- The enrollment process for Summer Rising starts in October for the following summer
- Over 100,000 applications have already been received for the upcoming summer
- 98% of promotion in doubt students who applied received a placement in the previous year
- The Department of Education prioritizes vulnerable students in the enrollment process

But one of the things we do wanna talk about too right now is around promotion and doubt students that are requiring for summarizing in order to participate in CBO led enrichment, how many mandated students applied for summarizing in 2024?
2:34:09
And the mandated students who did not apply, were they accepted to summarizing?
Emma Vadehra
2:34:18
Thank you for the question.
2:34:19
It's a pleasure to talk to you about summarizing again.
2:34:22
So as you know, at the time we do the we've tried to move the summarizing enrollment process up for the same reasons actually we talked earlier for early childhood, to make sure families have a good sense of whether they're getting into

the program.

2:34:34
And in order plan summer camp, you need to start in January.
Emma Vadehra
2:34:37
That's it.
2:34:37
And we have continually moved that up, and we start our planning in October.
2:34:41
And as you know, enrollment's open now for this summer.
2:34:44
We have over 100,000 applications already actually for this summer.
2:34:48
So in response to the question, the reason that relates to your question is it means we don't actually know at this point yet who's going to be mandated for

some school.
Emma Vadehra

Know
Althea V. Stevens

who's most Part of the problem that I have with summarizing, so thank you for highlighting my point of that's part of the In doubt.
Emma Vadehra
2:35:02
So we do prioritize those students as a part of the process.
2:35:07
Last year 98% of the promotion in doubt students who applied did receive a placement because we do prioritize those students.
2:35:15
All families across the system can apply, and so we are holding our summarizing seats, including the afternoon CBO seats, for the families who do choose to apply through the process because we don't have enough seats for everybody who applies, and we want to make sure we can place as many of those families as we can.
