At the February, there were over approximately 85,000 individuals in DHS shelters, nearly a third of them asylum seekers.

While shelter exits to permanent housing did increase in fiscal year twenty twenty five, so did the shelter census and the process for subsidized housing placements must be accelerated in order to significantly decrease the number of people living in our city's shelter system.
