Hurricane Ida and the storm in September 2023 devastated our basements in East Dahmer's resulting in several inches or feet of of sewage water, thousands of dollars of damage, mold, lost items, and significant emotional toll as well here.
3:54:46
Since July 2023, we've had at least six of these storms that resulted in various levels of basement flooding, and the DEP has built some new green infrastructure around the neighborhood, but, and they've done some cleaning as of last year.
3:55:00
But we still have yet to hear about the study that was that's being done for our neighborhood regarding the cloudburst project, as well as preexisting rampant street ponding all over the neighborhood that doesn't help the situation at all.
3:55:12
We have we we would like additional rain gardens and catch basins as well as a plan or schedule for regular cleaning of our catch basins as and sewers.
3:55:26
As we saw, the flooding was in part because least 50% of the sewers on on our block were were told to were were filled with sewage.
3:55:38
So I support both intro ten sixty seven and eleven fifty.
3:55:42
These devastating devastating storms are only becoming more frequent, and residents of East Elmhurst are in dire need of flood resiliency.
3:55:48
