  • He emphasizes the importance of these organizations in supporting migrants and their contributions to the city.
  • Johnson criticizes the "Common Sense Caucus" for being anti-migrant and urges the City Council to disregard their views.

Hello, chairman.
3:06:11
My name is Christopher Leon Johnson.
3:06:12
I am here to testify and show my support to two nonprofits, One, the worker justice project that gets money through via Third Secondary England and work, and treatment of project that gets money to the urban justice center.
3:06:24
I am called on the city council to preserve their funding within this budget for f y twenty six.
3:06:30
I am calling for $3,000,000 for the work of this project for for DWCP, and I'm calling for $3,000,000 into the treatment of the project in via DWCP.
3:06:40
Both of those organizations do a lot of great work.
3:06:42
Both of those organizations need a lot of help.
3:06:44
We all know that right now, there's a there's a tremulous mayoral cycle, and I'm calling on the the the speaker to preserve their funding despite the fact that you're running for mayor.
3:06:57
These organizations do a lot of great work for the for the for the city.
3:07:00
They do a lot of great work for the members.
3:07:01
Remember, they're mostly most of them migrants, great good migrants that do a lot of great work.
3:07:05
We all know that the there's a the the common sense caucus are anti migrant just anti migrant in general, and I'm calling on the city council to just don't listen to what they gotta say and fund these organizations.
3:07:19
At the same time, these organizations need to stay funded while the speaker is still running from for mayor because I have like I said before, I had a big feeling that the mayor I mean, speaker speaker Adrian Deal Adams is weaponizing the budget to make these two nonprofits that have a lot of slave within the city council to work this project and treatment the project to support her campaign.
3:07:40
Or and if they don't, they're gonna be defunded.
3:07:43
I'm calling on this view as the chair, missus Menin, to make sure that their fund to be preserved and they still get over $1,000,000 in their budget due this fiasco cycle despite the fact that Adrian Adams is despite the fact that Workers' Project is supporting Brad Lander for mayor and the street vendor project is backing Jessica Ramos for mayor.
3:08:05
So shout out to the bulk of Workers' Project.
3:08:07
Shout out to what they do.
3:08:08
Shout out to street vendor project and what they do, and we have to preserve their funding preserve their funding, and we and make sure we protect our migrants, protect the good migrants that that come out and bust their butt.
