- DOT is focusing on improving lighting in approximately 400 blocks where most crimes occur
- The initiative aims to address over 60% of crime happening in these areas
- The department is working with NYPD and other agencies to improve lighting and address quality of life issues in these high-crime blocks
- This effort is in addition to addressing lighting needs identified by individual council members

And one thing, chair, that I want to highlight is that we as we will work with each council member, you know, when it comes to any need to improve lighting, you know, with our inter governmental division led by Rick and Daniel and Miranda and the rest.

You know, we pay attention a lot, but I also want to highlight how critical important it is for mayor Eric Adams to also improve lighting by especially around the 400 blocks where most crimes are produced.

So as we are listening and working in each council member need, one of the things that we are doing in the city is also focusing led by NYPD and the other agency within those 400 blocks where more than 60% of the crime been happening to also not only improve lighting but also to address any other quality of life issue.
