Commissioner Rodriguez announces the implementation of regional slow zones in each of the outer boroughs as part of the Sammy's Law rollout.
- The first step was lowering the speed limit on Prospect Park West in Brooklyn to 20 miles per hour.
- A Lower Manhattan regional slow zone below Canal Street was then implemented.
- New regional slow zones are being established in:
- City Island in The Bronx
- DUMBO and Boerum Hill in Brooklyn
- Broadway in Queens
- St. George in Staten Island

This morning, we announced regional slow zone in each of the outer borough as the latest part of our Sami's Law rollout.
