  • New York City's ranking has dropped from top 10 to 12th place
  • Other cities are increasing park acreage and maintenance
  • Cities like DC and Minneapolis are seeing significant growth in park investments
  • Improved parks lead to better outcomes for city residents

Thank you for your testimony.
2:43:21
Just one question for you all too.
2:43:22
Mean, you all do some of leading work around green space and green space advocacy in our city.
2:43:27
How you know, you talked a bit about the impact these cuts have had over building on each other over the last few years too, but I would also say, compared to other cities around the country too, how do we compare in terms of the investments that we make in our parks and workers?
Tamar Renaud
2:43:47
So as I as I mentioned, we're coming down in the ranking.
2:43:50
We used to be one of the top 10.
2:43:53
We're now twelfth.
2:43:55
Our report is coming out next year.
2:43:56
We'll see how we fared.
2:43:58
Other cities are investing more.
2:44:01
They're increasing their acreage, and they're maintaining their parks.
2:44:05
They also have amenities in their parks like bathrooms, much discussed.
2:44:10
So the issue is really the funding for the care taking of the parks is increasing in other cities.
2:44:22
And you see in DC there's been a huge growth in Minnesota, also in Minneapolis, there's been a huge growth in investment in parks, and so their parks are improving, and that is improving the outcomes for the residents in those cities.
