Council Member Althea V. Stevens inquires about the success metrics of the fatherhood program and potential expansion to include mothers. DYCD officials explain their approach to measuring success and plans for program development.

  • Success is measured through self-reported improvements in co-parenting relationships, time spent with children, and child support contributions.
  • DYCD is planning to include mothers in the program conversations and focus on co-parenting strategies.
  • The agency is also looking to engage fathers who are 18 and under, recognizing the unique challenges they face.

The additional 2,100,000.0 in fiscal twenty twenty six and 5,000,000 in the out years for the program indicates the needs and success of the pilot program.

Yes we have.

We're gonna be leaning heavily on co parenting and and and just really looking at the toolbox that are needed to have a successful co parenting between the custodial or non custodial dad and and the mother.

So yes, and we're gonna continue to hear the voices of the mothers as well to make sure that every voice around is being heard.

I also wanna emphasize this that we're looking and we've engaging in young men who are 18 and under because we think that's also a level of complexities that we have not engaged in past, which we will be engaging in the future.
