Council Member Lynn Schulman inquires about alternative options for Brooklyn residents seeking animal adoptions and care during the Brooklyn ACC closure. DOHMH Deputy Commissioner Corinne Schiff provides information on available alternatives.

  • The Queens ACC, located near the Brooklyn border, is available for Brooklyn residents
  • A new pet adoption center in Manhattan is also an option for adoptions
  • DOHMH encourages all New Yorkers looking for a pet to consider ACC facilities

What alternative options do people that live in Brooklyn have for adoptions and medical care?
Corinne Schiff
2:30:16
The Queen's ACC is actually essentially on the border with Brooklyn.
2:30:22
So residents of Brooklyn are welcome to go to the Queens ACC for adoption or as I mentioned to Councilmember Brewer's question to our beautiful new pet adoption center in Manhattan.
2:30:35
And I do urge all New Yorkers looking for a pet come to ACC.
