Council Member Lynn Schulman inquires about specific neighborhoods or factors that might lead to longer arrival times for investigators. Dr. Jason Graham explains the various factors affecting response times.

  • Time of day significantly impacts response times due to traffic flow
  • OCME vehicles lack emergency responder status, affecting their ability to navigate traffic
  • Various citywide variables contribute to response times, including travel distances to different boroughs

Are there specific neighborhoods that take longer for an investigator to arrive?
4:17:01
Or is that just I mean, you sort of alluded to it a little bit.
Jason Graham
4:17:05
Yeah.
4:17:05
There are many factors aside from just geography and the city.
4:17:09
I think the time of day also has, clear implications with respect to traffic flow and our ability to, again without emergency responders status, be able to respond in a timely way from Northern Bronx to Staten Island to Far Rockaways.

And so it's a it's a citywide set of variables.
