So at at a hearing held on February 19 jointly with the subcommittee on COVID and infectious diseases, it was revealed that seven staffers at the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, which were assigned to work with DOHMH, were laid off.

Those seven staff are staffed with expertise that is incredibly important for us to continue our work at the New York City Health Department.
