Deputy Commissioner Joseph Antonelli explains the ongoing costs for the containerization program, focusing on the per-bin costs and the potential for expanding the program to other districts.
- The leasing model costs $95.5 per bin per month, which includes cleaning and maintenance.
- The current RFP and contract are registered only for the Manhattan Community District 9 pilot.
- The contract can be amended to add additional districts if authorized, using the same RFP structure.

Do you expect those costs to be the same year to year?
0:39:57
Obviously the mailer program probably won't be needed next year but do you expect the other costs like personnel and container costs?
0:40:06
What's going be the maintenance cost for these containers?
Joseph Antonelli
0:40:08
So the cost on the containers I think it's better to talk about on per bin basis.
0:40:14
So the leasing model which is an all inclusive, it's the cleaning, it's the maintenance and everything is $95.5 a bin per month.
0:40:24
And that kind of gives us this constant unless there's some sort of you know catastrophic issue with the bin.
0:40:30
This kind of gives us a constant this is what we expect the bin is to cost.

And based off of the RFP that was provided to Kantinor last year, you can use that same RFP for future districts as well for containerization expansion?
Lincoln Restler

That's
Shaun Abreu
0:40:46
correct.
0:40:47
Assuming that there's authorizing legislation?
Joseph Antonelli
0:40:48
Yes.
0:40:49
So the contract is only registered for the m nine pilot but the way we did the RFP would allow us to amend that contract to add additional districts if we were authorized to do so.

Thank you.
