Two years ago, mayor Adams proposed to cut funds from community compost organizations, which includes nonprofit organizations such as Earth Matter.

I would like to give thanks to those who helped these organizations resume funding.

Your efforts help support community composters and help more people get access to community composting.

Throughout school, we are taught the importance of composting, breaking down organic waste that goes back to our environment.

The city practices different type of composting, such as municipal organic waste management and community composting.

Meanwhile, municipal organic waste management includes anaerobic digestion of in Newtown Creek.
