Council Member Pierina Sanchez inquires about the breakdown of capital allocation for preservation projects. HPD representatives provide information on the current status and future expectations for preservation funding.

  • HPD is still evaluating the pipeline for the next year's preservation projects
  • A clearer understanding of capital allocation is expected in the next month or two
  • The agency is considering additional state funding of $1 billion for housing initiatives
  • HPD aims to coordinate city, state, and federal funding components for optimal resource allocation

Do we have a sense yet of what the breakdown of how much preservation capital or how much capital will go to preservation from sheets and projects?

So we're still evaluating the pipeline for next year, but I think over the next month or two, we'll have a better understanding of what to expect.

And then the only thing I would add is at the state level as they talk about the additional 1,000,000,000 that we're grateful for the state, we want all of this to work in concert with each other.

So we're looking at that, the city piece, and of course the federal component in discussion about where those budget pieces will land will impact how we make the best mix.
