those conversations are going well with OMB?
James "Jimmy" S. Oddo
4:40:12
Well, the the OMB process was and I think rightfully so from from from their perspective.
4:40:19
It was like you you have a lot of work to do.
4:40:21
What's the plan?
4:40:22
So we met.
4:40:23
We huddled.
4:40:24
We spoke with an outside entity and we created a new game plan.
4:40:28
I give a lot of credit internally to our chief of staff who kind of ran point for us.
4:40:33
And again, I bristled initially at OMB's intervention, but it it was a net plus.
4:40:41
And we continued to do the work.
4:40:47
But I think the the frustrating thing for me initially was for the whole world, the council, city hall, everyone to realize there is no finishing DOB Now because DOB Now gets built and updated as we operationalize your priorities and our priorities.
4:41:04
And and I and I will add, and I think this predates you, this this institution, the council from 2018 to 2021 was particularly robust in its legislative, activities pertaining to the agency.
4:41:22
Yeah.
4:41:22
So you have all of this coming in.
4:41:25
How do we put it in an order?
4:41:27
What is the priority amongst priorities?
4:41:30
And let's show our colleagues at OMB like this is the plan.
4:41:35
So I think we're on the right path now.
4:41:38
I think we today benefit from hindsight and I think going back to the Bloomberg administration and the de Blasio administration, choices made, decisions made then, they probably would not make the same decisions today knowing what what we know and knowing how things turned out.
4:41:56
But we're committed to getting it built out.
4:41:58
There are pluses to DOB now.
4:42:02
And it gives us and it gives our customers things that biz and the paper system the convenience to be able to do.
4:42:11
It it is a net plus, but it's a tremendous amount of work.
4:42:16
And now we have a game plan and in order to do that work.
4:42:20
Some of the folks behind me aren't happy because they know where they are now in that order and it's they're not at the front of the line.
