Lord God, it is our inestimate privilege and great responsibility of this council to serve the peoples of the city of New York.

We rightly call New York the greatest city on earth.

And why?

Because no other city can claim so great a diversity so as to resent represent all the peoples on earth.

As they begin their deliberations, fill these representatives with the spirit of your wisdom and justice to seek the common good of all, especially the poor and most vulnerable.

May they further the safety, well-being, and prosperity of all who live in this great city.
