Council Member Lynn C. Schulman inquires about strategies for locating cooling centers based on the prevalence of air conditioning in different areas. She suggests focusing on areas with fewer air conditioners, particularly among aging populations and people with disabilities.
- Schulman proposes tailoring the number of cooling centers to the needs of specific areas
- She uses her own district as an example, suggesting it might need fewer cooling centers due to its socioeconomic status
- The question aims to understand if data on air conditioning prevalence is available for such strategic planning

And one of the questions that I was thinking about when both of you were testifying is because it is true that people if people have air conditioning, they're not gonna go to a cooling center.

So is there a way to figure out where the where people have the least amount of air conditioners in terms of the aging population and people with disabilities and all of that?
0:40:53
So that maybe we have more cooling centers in a particular place than somewhere else.

Like, for example, you know, the the district that I have is mostly, not all, mostly middle, upper middle class.

So there may be less of a need there than someplace else.

So I'm just curious as to whether or not that data is available.
