I also wanna speak on the the resolution, regarding sanctuary cities and just debunk, some of the rhetoric that we are hearing, widespread with some facts.

The reality is is that sanctuary cities are safer for everyone.

Sanctuary policies allow immigrants to report abuses and engage with public safety officials without fear of deportation.

Sanctuary city policies allow immigrants to feel more comfortable acting as witnesses in criminal investigations.

And on average, fewer crimes are committed per capita in counties with sanctuary policies compared to cities who do not have sanctuary city policies.

Also, as a seven plus year public defender, I can tell you that, when an undocumented immigrant or somebody that does not have, permanent legal residence here is convicted, found guilty of what they are accused of, they automatically enter a a deportation, proceeding process.

And so this this the rhetoric that's being told of otherwise, is just patently false.

So I'm hoping that we all stand stand in truth and data, and reality when we vote on items like this and support, the sanctuary city policies that continue to make us a safer city.
