Quick question, I have some concerns about the daylighting of the intersections as far as when it comes to and this is I think a direct question.

Will there be loss of parking spaces with daylighting?

So, yes.

Sort of the inherent nature of it is that we would have to restrict parking on the approach to intersections.

And then when we talk about a proper placement, I think that was brought up earlier.

Are we having conversations with local community boards, local block associations to get input on making sure that the proper placement is done for these particular intersections?

We have a set of standards that we apply first.

You you don't want to daylight the direction the traffic isn't coming from on a one way street.

Like there's a set of things that apply around the city.

And then we do outreach, so we try to match the level to the level of intervention.

We change about 100,000 signs a year.

I think if we had a community board meeting for each small change,

you know, we would not able Well, we didn't say a community board meeting, but making sure you get an input from the community board and from the district manager and the chairs or the chair of the transportation committee for each respective community board would suffice.

And, our borough commissioners are regularly in touch with all stakeholders including the community boards to let them know about what's happening in the communities.

I know when it comes to jurisdiction and ownership of streets, especially with the Gateway area in my district, we've obviously been going back and forth with DOT over those particular streets and I know there's supposed to be a transition that's supposed to take place.

In those communities, I know in the Gateway area then in the Jewel Street area, are there any plans to do daylighting there in those intersections?

We do not have specific plans there in part because they're not yet our streets.

Well, there's a located right on Flatlands and Elton and you know obviously those streets are not regulated.

You do have some street, some corners that do have stop signs and then you have some corners that have make sure stop signs.

You commit to take care of some of those needed regulations for those particular corners?

As we take ownership of the streets, we can address all of that.

And we are starting to think about what would need to be done there so that we're ready.

There's obviously a lot on Vandalia Avenue.

So we are getting prepared but until there are streets, right, there's some challenge there.

And the last thing, again I just want to point out a major concern is the loss of parking.

That's something obviously my office, you know especially in those particular areas where there's a lack of parking there's a need for more parking spaces for that those particular areas and we definitely have to take in consideration that I we we understand is a need for for safety but when folks have to double park and and and block the street late at night just to get parking that that shouldn't be so if you're gonna do things to take that stress off a resident, that's something I would support.

But if it's if it's definitely gonna put a strain on already scarcity in parking that obviously something that is that I'm not a supporter of.
