- No instances of blocking bike lanes in Queens Central so far
- DSNY advises trucks to use hazard lights and watch for pedestrians and cyclists
- Trucks are not allowed to drive in bike lanes or obstruct traffic
- DEP conducts some idling enforcement

In some situations private waste trucks may block traffic or a bike lane creating a hazard when they have to stop for several minutes or more out of business to collect waste from there.

What enforcement does the SNY or any other city agency conduct with regard to where commercial waste trucks may park during collections?

So the right now there are instances where I don't believe in Queen Central there has been any areas where they have to block a bike lane.

But they may as we roll out citywide we're gonna we may encounter that.

One of the things we do, you know, as DSNY ourselves is when we service that, we obviously ask them to make sure they have their hazard lights on and they're watching out for any pedestrians or bicyclists, but they can't just, go out and drive in a in a bike lane or obstruct, know, any kind of traffic.

And then DEP does some idling enforcement as well.
