The shadow analysis conducted for the project shows minimal impact on surrounding sunlight-sensitive resources. The study addresses concerns about potential shadow effects on nearby community spaces.

  • No project-generated shadows will fall on Brooklyn Botanic Garden, Jackie Robinson Playground, or McKeever Place Garden sitting area
  • Shadows will fall on PS 375 K running track and basketball court only in winter months
  • All shadows will leave the school site by 12:15 PM, after which the school is out of session
  • The CEQR analysis determined the shadow impact to be insignificant
  • The presentation aims to clarify misinformation about shadow impacts in the community

So I just wanna briefly next slide, please.
0:40:58
Just briefly, just explain the shadow or the results of our shadow analysis.
0:41:03
So there has been considerable misinformation being spread about this project regarding the shadow impacts.
0:41:09
Our seeker shadow analysis revealed that there are no project generated shadows that will fall on neighborhood resources such as the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, Jackie Robinson Playground, or the McHeaver Place Garden sitting area, which is located immediately north of PS 375 K.
0:41:26
The only shadows that the analysis showed will fall on the PS 375 K running track and basketball court associated with that public school in the winter months only.
0:41:38
In the morning, all shadows will leave the site by 12:15.
0:41:42
At that time, after 12:15, the school is out of session.
0:41:46
The site is then reopened to the public.
0:41:48
So given that that's how the shadow impact fell, the seeker analysis determined that's an insignificant shadow impact.
