My name is Bernadette Ferrara, And even though I'm the president of the Venice neighborhood alliance and also chair of Bronx Community Board 11, Today, I speak as a lifelong Bronx resident living in the neighborhood of Van Ness.

1 of the few low density communities in district 13.

While the 4 fundamental goals of the city of yes, economic opportunity cast a broad stroke It is in the fine print where many communities take pause.

What about the true impact on low density communities in the Bronx, which have become an endangered species left to crumble under the many options presented at these 18 proposals.

For example, proposal 5 is a Pandora's box of disasters waiting to happen blurring the lines of residential and commercial districts.

Many of these proposals undermine low density communities that offer an option.

For example, those who choose to live in Van Ness as opposed to living in Parkchester or Kauai City.

Many families move to these neighborhoods to escape congested parts of the city in search of a better quality of life.

There is a way to support our business growth without without zoning obstacles and still allow our low density communities with green spaces to coexist.

Why not improve on these specific zoning proposals without changing everything?
