Richard Lobel discusses the potential consequences if the rezoning proposal is not approved. He emphasizes the historical context of the property and the community support for the current proposal.
- The property has a dilapidated one-story concrete structure that has been unused for over 30 years
- The current state is a result of a failed partnership with a developer who 'took advantage' of the church
- There are no concrete plans for the property if the rezoning is not approved
- The church has gathered significant community support, including over 50 consent letters from people in the immediate area

If this proposal is not approved, are there any other plans for this property?

You know, Chair, sadly, when we talked about this internally as an applicant team, when you look at that one story concrete, it's not even really a structure, it's like a shell.

That happened because there was a prior developer who over thirty years ago, really for want of a better term, took advantage of the church and proposed a partnership where they would build something.

                                            0:19:29

And so that property has sat with this dilapidated structure for over thirty years.

I think one thing that we've all been united on in terms of our community conversations has been the opportunity to really right that wrong.

So we don't really know what would happen to the property in the absence of this rezoning.

We do know that the church has done a lot of work in terms of outreach and came to their community meetings with, I think, over 50 consent letters of people in the immediate area who are in favor of what they're currently proposing.

                                        Thank you, Richard.

I'm gonna yield my time to the speaker to ask her questions.
