This chapter details the extensive community engagement efforts undertaken by the Queen's Future team to gather input and shape the design of Metropolitan Park.
- The engagement process lasted four years and included 16 community workshops with nearly 2,000 participants.
- Over 1,000 one-on-one meetings were held with community leaders, and over 20,000 residents were engaged.

I am honored to lead the community engagement for Queen's future overseeing a four year effort a four year long effort to gather input that has shaped the design of Metropolitan Park.

In those four years, we held 16 community workshops where nearly 2,000 community residents participated, hosted over 1,001 on one meetings with community leaders, and engaged with over 20,000 residents.

They want an area they can enjoy all year round that is climate resistant, that has safe bike and pedestrian paths that give them access to the waterfront.

In my seventeen years of government experience and sitting for the first time on this side of the dais, I have never encountered a project with this level of community board support.
