I want to begin by acknowledging the fatal fire that took place in council member Mealy's district on Tuesday, which resulted in the death of one person.

I also want to acknowledge the horrible tragedy out of the Dominican Republic that killed over 200 people when a roof collapsed during a concert at Jet Set Nightclub in Santo Domingo.
