NYCHA's implementation of DOI recommendations

Council Member Chris Banks asks about NYCHA's plans to implement the Department of Investigation's (DOI) recommendations. Lauren Gray from NYCHA outlines several measures they have taken or are in the process of implementing:
- Implementation of geofencing technology for invoicing
- Installation of security guard desks at 98% of locations
- Posting of signage for security and fire guards throughout buildings
- Conducting unannounced site visits, increasing from 60 to 250 per month
- Updating security reports to include checks on cameras and doors
- Updating the security manual as requested by DOI

the invoicing system, again, we have geofencing technology now.

We're getting the invoices on a regular cadence.

We actually have already implemented the security guard desks at, I think, 98% of the locations.

I think we're we're we have a back order of two desks, and hopefully, they'll be installed this week.

We actually posted the signage for both security guards and fire guards throughout the buildings that have it.

We do unannounced site visits as requested by DOI, and we again, part of this even went out.

We were doing a 60 even before the report.

We're now doing two fifty, so we're doing about 3,000 unannounced inspections a year.

We are gonna update the report as DOI requested the security port to include checking of both cameras and doors.

That's an a little bit of enhancement we have to do because it's an electronic security report.

One of the other items that they asked is that to update our manual, which we are in the process of of of doing as well.
