Council Member Chris Banks inquires about NYCHA's process for determining when a development or building needs security system upgrades or repairs. Lauren Gray explains the approach taken by NYCHA.

  • Upgrades are determined through capital assessments and feedback from operations
  • When cameras or systems are failing, NYCHA works to identify additional funding
  • Repairs and improvements are made based on these assessments

How does NYCHA gauge whether development or building is in need of security system upgrades or repair?
Lauren Gray

So that usually comes from a capital assessment and some feedback from operations.

If we see that cameras are failing or that the systems are failing, We work together to identify hopefully some additional funding to make repairs and improvements to the the camera system.
