Thank you.

How did NYCHA's actions and responsiveness changed before and after they were alerted during this investigation?
Jocelyn Strauber
0:24:49
Well, just to be clear, our investigation is really focused on the time periods that I mentioned.
0:24:54
Right.
0:24:55
So I'm I'm not I'm not in a position to give sort of detail that goes beyond the report Okay.
0:25:00
That addresses how NYCHA responded to the information that we provided.
0:25:05
Then I can say in the report, you know, goes into some detail about the the approach that NYCHA took to the inspections and to documenting the inspections prior to and during the period of our investigation.
0:25:19
But in terms of, like, what NYCHA has done differently since then, I'm not I'm not able to go beyond what's in the report.
0:25:26
I know that the recommendations have been accepted.
0:25:29
I don't think at this point they've all been implemented, but NYCHA can probably give you more more specific detail on that.
Chris Banks
0:25:35
Okay.
0:25:35
Well, then can you answer this?
0:25:36
Then what sparked the need for this investigation and what key events led to the DOI to investigate?
Jocelyn Strauber
0:25:45
Yeah.
0:25:45
So there were in in March, I believe, of twenty twenty two media reports that I think have video from the lobby of the Coursey Houses that show, you know, the the broken lobby doors, a a trespasser, and that was really what caused us to start this investigation.
0:26:03
It was then our own findings when we did an, you know, on the scene inspections that led us to broaden the investigation beyond where, you know, where it started.
