  • New contractors: CitySafe, ISS, and Wisdom, started between September 2023 and March 2024
  • NYCHA reports better performance and quicker response to issues with the new vendors
  • There are still occasional problems with guards not showing up or being late, but overall improvement is noted

Since the replacement of Allied Universal and NYCHA security and and fire guard contracts, Has NYCHA identified any instances of guards missing or being late for their shifts?
1:51:00
And if so, how are those instances handled?
Lauren Gray
1:51:04
We have.
1:51:05
We have been working very closely with CitySafe ISS and Wisdom to address those issues immediately.
1:51:12
The head of my office of safety and security director, Anthony Kotarski, The day we find out about the issue, they are getting an email.
1:51:20
We are sending them and letting them know that they are not gonna be paid for that shift, and that we do not want that guard back on our property.
Chris Banks
1:51:28
When did when when did their contract begin?
Lauren Gray
1:51:30
I'm sorry?
Chris Banks
1:51:31
When did their contract begin?
Lauren Gray
1:51:33
ISS Wisdom Morale Yes.
1:51:34
CitySafe.
1:51:35
They were in various stages.
1:51:37
I believe ISS officially started with NYCHA in September of twenty twenty three.
1:51:42
Yep.
1:51:43
And and and Wisdom was November of twenty twenty three, and CitySafe officially started in March of twenty twenty four.
Chris Banks
1:51:49
So these are the the three new contractors that are now providing okay.
1:51:56
And is there a report card as on, you know, them meeting their contractual obligations?
Lauren Gray
1:52:06
I wouldn't say this is a report card, but we are active.
Chris Banks
1:52:08
How can you enlighten us as to how they've been behaving?
Lauren Gray
1:52:12
Yeah.
1:52:13
Much better.
1:52:13
We are actively engaged with these three companies.
1:52:18
I I know Anthony meets with them probably at at when they first came on board, we were meeting with them weekly.
1:52:24
As services improved, then they got a rhythm and were showing up more regularly at NYCHA developments.
1:52:29
We saw less and less of an issue.
1:52:31
There will always be an issue.
1:52:32
You know, my guard might not show up.
1:52:34
They might be late.
1:52:35
But for the most part, we're seeing a much better turnaround rate and a much better performance by all three vendors.
