Council Member Lincoln Restler thanks Andrew Rein for his testimony and acknowledges the importance of fiscal responsibility in the current climate. He then asks about OMB's centralized tracking of federal funding, including job impacts and spending efficiency.

  • Restler emphasizes the need for planning and preparation given the current upheaval
  • He expresses concern about the OMB's siloed approach and asks if there's a global view of the broader risks facing the city

And while I think the CBC is consistent in its calls for more savings and fiscal responsibility, This does feel like a moment where these calls ring particularly true.

I just wanted to to reiterate a question that I asked to the to the IBO.

From your extensive experience in city government and your close working relationship with administrations, are you what centralized tracking are you aware of that the that OMB does of the federal funding that we receive, both how many jobs are associated with it in city government, how that how efficiently that money is being spent down, and what we can to to, you know, ensure that we are planning and preparing effectively for the upheaval that we're experiencing now.

I just worry that kind of in the OMB model of every task force is focused on its set of agencies, is there somebody with a global view that's looking at the broader risks that we're facing as a city?
