Council Member de la Rosa asks about metrics or benchmarks used to evaluate agencies' progress on equity and retention. After OLR defers to DCAS, Katrina Porter provides information on DCAS's approach to measuring progress.

  • OLR does not play a role in evaluating agency progress on equity
  • DCAS uses the Workforce Profile Report as the primary tool for measuring diversity
  • The FY24 Workforce Profile Report is expected to be released at the end of the month, aligning with the fiscal year for the first time

And what metrics or benchmarks does OLR use to evaluate whether agencies can make meaningful progress on equity or retention?
1:06:05
Are there any?
Daniel Pollock
1:06:07
That's not a role OLR really plays.
1:06:09
Again, I would defer to my colleagues at DECAS who monitor that information.
Carmen de la Rosa
1:06:13
Okay.
1:06:13
So putting it back to DCAS, are there any benchmarks to evaluate when agencies are making meaningful progress on equity?
Katrina Porter
1:06:30
So the most visible document that we have available as it relates to diversity is the workforce profile report and I'm excited to announce that we're planning to release the FY24 report at the end of this month.
1:06:45
That will be the first time that we are on par with the fiscal year.
1:06:49
So we can of course use that more readily to measure success and address benchmarks.
