Council Member Brooks-Powers questions why Hoboken's conclusions on daylighting differ from DOT's study. Deputy Commissioner Beaton explains the differences and limitations of Hoboken's approach.

  • Hoboken reports fewer collisions and injuries as a result of daylighting
  • Beaton notes that Hoboken's daylighting was historical and related to narrow streets
  • DOT found no formal study from Hoboken on the effectiveness of their daylighting measures

They've been a terrific member of the city community, including their work on daylighting and also road diets and hardening and other things that they have done.

0:49:57
