Hello.
4:02:20
Thank you for taking my testimony today.
4:02:24
I'm coming to speak to you in enthusiastic support for Intro eleven thirty eight.
4:02:33
And I come to you as as both a mother and as a neuropsychologist.
4:02:40
As a mother, I was spent the last week taking care of my 50 year old son.
4:02:47
So do the math.
4:02:49
I'm not, you know, a spring chicken.
4:02:51
I'm I beat the first the guy before me in years.
4:02:56
But the point being that, my son has a severe disability, and I was the backup caregiver all week.
4:03:06
And I want to highlight the cost of traffic violence and the injuries that are produced thereby.
4:03:16
I want to explain because, you know, I'm I'm exhausted from just spending one week taking care of my son.
4:03:24
My back is killing me.
4:03:27
And yet, why am I saying this?
4:03:31
Because vehicular violence, which daylighting will reduce, not only kills, it causes severe injuries like my son's.
4:03:40
He was not injured by vehicular violence, but that's where my role as a neuropsychologist comes in.
4:03:48
I treat people with severe brain injuries frequently caused by traffic violence.
4:03:54
In particular, I have, treated two people for over twenty years.
4:04:01
Each week I go to their homes to to treat them, and I see their family members working day in and day out to take care of their loved ones.
4:04:13
And these these are both people that can't get out of bed or toilet themselves.
4:04:20
And I see their parents, both of them have parents that are older than me, which means they're ancient, caring faithfully.
