Yes.
5:33:01
Hey.
5:33:01
Thank you city council for letting me speak about intro 11:38.
5:33:08
I just wanted to say that I'm from Harlem, but I'm currently living in Midtown Manhattan.
5:33:15
And I think that daylighting will help keep Harlem people safe, keep black people safe, and I do believe it is worth losing some parking if we have to lose parking to ensure the safety of the younger people, the younger generations, everybody, the older generations, those people.
5:33:40
You know, I know Harlem gets left out of a lot of these conversations, but it's very dangerous up there.
5:33:47
And in Midtown, it's quite chaotic as well.
5:33:52
Shockingly chaotic as well, and daylighting would make this better.
5:33:58
They tried it in New Jersey.
5:34:00
It worked in New Jersey, and they are very car centric and daylighting still worked.
5:34:05
It worked 100%.
5:34:07
They didn't have any traffic deaths.
5:34:10
And I think also they will be preventing people from being seriously injured, which will, you know, hurt their, you know, employment chances and their ability to make money.
5:34:24
And I think, you know, for people that are vulnerable within the black community and Latino community and the minority community and the older people, I think daylighting is going to be wonderful for them, keeping them safe.
5:34:40
And, again, it's worth getting rid of some parking.
5:34:44
Yeah.
5:34:45
It's so sorry to say, look, I drive, I take the train, I take the bus, I I walk, I bike, whatever.
5:34:53
I think we should get this done.
5:34:54
Thank you Julie Wan for this legislation.
5:34:58
