Michael Pugh, a resident of the Upper East Side, testified in support of Intro 1138, which proposes universal daylighting in New York City. He emphasized the importance of making the city safer for pedestrians by improving intersection visibility.
- Pugh moved to New York City because of its walkability and the ability to live comfortably without a car.
- He identified crossing the street as one of the most dangerous activities for pedestrians in the city.
- Pugh argued that universal daylighting would make intersections and the city safer for all New Yorkers, including drivers.

one of the few uncomfortable things in the city, right, is is that's one of the most dangerous things we do is is being a pedestrian and crossing a street.

And this is mostly due and the easiest thing to make this experience better for pedestrians, which which many of us are all at some point even if we do drive, is to, have universal daylight and make the intersections safer and make the city safer for for for all these New Yorkers, including drivers.
