My name is Steven Black.
2:39:08
I'm a resident of Park Slope, Brooklyn.
2:39:11
I don't really have a, like, written up response.
2:39:14
This is more just, you know, it seems like a very sensible policy, and sometimes you just gotta show up for very sensible policies, especially when you see the level of pushback that's been sort of going on here, you know, like the DOT will bring up, you know, when they're comparing unfavorably Nassau County to New York, well, you know, daylighting is the same there.
2:39:34
But when it's Hoboken, well, Hoboken has a series of complex, you know, economic and historical factors.
2:39:41
It doesn't really make any sense when, you know, you you think about it, but it just seems like a a completely sensical solution.
2:39:48
It seems incredibly easy.
2:39:49
All of the statements against it today have seemed very thin.
2:39:54
I mean, we've gotten what maybe it doesn't work if you don't daylight it even though the bill has hardening built into it.
2:40:01
We've gotten it reduces traffic even though it will save lives.
2:40:04
Or sorry, reduces parking spots even though it will save lives.
2:40:07
None of these things really make any sort of sense to me or any like as a reason not to do this, especially when we've seen such widespread success, you know, not only in places like Hoboken, but across the country in places like San Francisco.
2:40:20
It seems like such an obvious and easy win just, you know, in order to save lives generally.
2:40:26
And, yeah.
2:40:27
No.
2:40:27
That's basically all I had to say.
