Council Member Linda Lee, drawing from her background in the nonprofit sector, expresses frustration with the ongoing issues in the contracting process. She inquires about how much the current administration has looked back at previous reform efforts, such as those under the de Blasio and Bloomberg administrations.

  • Lee mentions the Nonprofit Resiliency Committee (NRC) and its subcommittees from previous years
  • She emphasizes that many of the current issues have existed for years
  • Lee suggests that valuable information and recommendations from past efforts could be revisited

Good morning, everyone.
1:51:38
Just wanted to say thank you for joining us, and hello to all my nonprofit colleagues and leaders who are here doing the work day in, day out.
1:51:45
Really appreciate all your efforts.
1:51:46
And I share a lot of the frustration that council member Stevens has as I too come from the nonprofit sector running a organization for many years.
1:51:55
And I just have to say, in hearing your testimonies it seems like there's a lot of acronyms and names, all of which I think we've all tried in the past and it's being repackaged and put in a nice pretty box, But, you know, I remember being part of the NRC nonprofit resiliency committee and just wondering, you know, how much of that have you historically gone back to?
1:52:21
Because there's a lot of the same conversations and recommendations and suggestions that were made years ago.
1:52:27
There were all these subcommittees.
1:52:28
There was a lot of time and energy and effort under the de Blasio administration as well as previously in the Bloomberg administration to, you know, reform a lot of the contracting processes.
1:52:37
And so I'm just wondering how much access to that previous information you have because it's all there, right?
1:52:45
And these are all issues that we know have existed for many many years and I could probably dig up my old files as well for you but just wanting to know how much of that you're also historically looking back at and reevaluating and reassessing.
