Good afternoon.
4:34:43
Thank you Chair Stevens and Chair One for this hearing and really for following this issue and fighting on this issue over so many years.
4:34:50
I'm Gregory Brender from the Day Care Council of New York.
4:34:52
We're the membership organization of New York City's early childhood education providers.
4:34:57
We have some written testimony with some data from our members about this issue, but as you know it's just been a crisis a long time.
4:35:05
Contractors have gone out of business, others have are holding on by a thread taking out actions including lines of credit and personal loans if they can't do a line of credit.
4:35:17
Have our recommendations are aligned with those of the Human Services Council and we support the recommendations and just want to add to it that very often programs funded by DOE or NYCPS including all the childcare centers and family childcare networks under the Division of Early Childhood Education are excluded from these actions because of not being part of mox and mayoral control.
4:35:41
So we would urge that the city commit to ensuring that when these are put in place that they also apply to early childhood education providers with DEC contracts.

And thank you so much for this hearing.
