Haris Khan from the Department of Small Business Services (SBS) explains their outreach efforts for street vendors:
- SBS partners with city agencies to promote licensing opportunities
- For supervisory licenses, SBS mailed out 22,000 mailers and distributed 15,000 pamphlets
- SBS promotes concessionary opportunities from various city agencies
- Services are broadly accessible to all, including street vendors
- Vendors can benefit from business courses, planning, and digital marketing resources
- There are no arbitrary barriers set by SBS to serve street vendors

And can you talk a little bit, I guess this is more directed to SBS, than about the outreach that your agency is doing.

Thank you, Chairman.

And so we help partner with city agencies whenever licensing opportunities arise, and example of that was the close partnership with the Department of Health.

Over the supervisory licenses, we mailed out 22,000 mailers.
0:44:20
And then we did another 15,000 pamphlets.
0:44:23
And in the general course of our work, we also promote concessionary opportunities that may exist throughout city agencies, such as the Parks Department or other agencies.
0:44:32
And so whenever opportunities arise under the current regulations, we make sure that vendors can take advantage of those resources.
0:44:39
And our services generally are broadly accessible to all.
0:44:42
So when they do access our services, they can benefit from business courses, business planning, digital marketing.
0:44:49
There is no arbitrary barrier that is set by our agency to serve as street vendors.

We're proud of that partnership.
