Good afternoon.
5:28:15
My name is Rosie Alvarez.
5:28:17
I come from The Bronx.
5:28:19
I am 35 years old.
5:28:23
Sorry.
5:28:24
I've been here for thirty five years, correction phone interpreter.
5:28:28
And I've been vendor for more than twenty years.
5:28:32
For me, it is an opportunity to work as a street vendor because I'm a single mother and I have the opportunity to work and to spend time with my kids, especially because it's just us, and to take them to school.
5:28:52
And thanks to this, I can pay my rent and I can support them on my own.
5:29:00
And this is where we get our economic support.
5:29:04
I do pay my taxes, but I don't want to say that I don't have this don't have the sticker that you require to put on our cards.
5:29:20
I just have the ID because there are no permits for the trucks or the cards.
5:29:29
I do have my license, but the stickers are not good because they're frozen.
5:29:37
So when sanitation picked me up, told me that I had to get a license for the rent But everything is frozen, so everything has been denied.
5:29:54
So it will be good that to pay a rented card or a truck that you give us the license so we are not afraid that police and legal enforcement would pick us up from our places or spots or sanitation and take everything from us when they come to us with police.
5:30:21
And we don't really know what's going to happen.
5:30:23
So I just want to tell you that we need the help with the licenses.
5:30:28
And we just want the opportunity for support.
5:30:32
We just want to work honestly.
5:30:38
We are upstanding members of the society, and we just want to have the opportunity to work and to get the licenses from you.
