Clarification on green infrastructure datasets: Green Hub vs. NYC Open Data

Council Member Avilés inquires about the differences between the Green Hub dataset required by the 2023 consent order and the NYC Open Data green infrastructure dataset. Deputy Commissioner Angela Licata explains the distinctions between the two.
- Green Hub is an internal DEP tool for tracking areas assessed for green infrastructure, including rejected sites
- NYC Open Data set contains information on assets that are in design, under construction, or already built
- The Green Hub dataset is more comprehensive and includes pre-planning information, while NYC Open Data focuses on projects moving forward

So I guess let's start with the 2023 consent decree, consent order modification that requires DP to track the constructed green infrastructure assets in a dataset that the state refers to as the New York City green hub.
1:30:11
Additionally, DP maintains a green infrastructure dataset, New York City open data.
1:30:18
Are the two datasets the same?
1:30:20
Do they communicate?
1:31:21
Got it.
1:31:22
So if if I understand correctly, it means the the green hub is more the pre planning development dataset that you utilize internally and New York City open data capture is one ones that are in process, like in construction.

So they are not the same, and I will explain the difference.
1:30:28
The Greenhub asset tracking system is looking, it's what DEP uses to keep track of the areas that we have visited and assessed for appropriateness for green infrastructure.
1:30:44
So it's assets that have also been rejected and assets that we're carrying forward into the process.
1:30:51
And we're looking at that during the various stages of planning, investigation, as I mentioned.
1:30:56
You might have boring information, which is geotech work, design, and construction.
1:31:03
And then the open data set is really available for communities to better understand the assets that most certainly will be implemented.
1:31:15
Those are the ones that are in design, heading construction, or have been constructed.
1:31:38
Exactly.
1:31:38
That they're designed and most certainly expected to lead to a constructed asset.
