Council Member Abreu inquires about performance indicators, benchmarks, and potential additional funding needs for the precision cleaning program.
- DSNY measures success by the number of locations cleaned (6,600 in current fiscal year vs. 1,600 last year)
- The department uses a mobile field collection app to assess effectiveness
- FY '26 budget restores the peg made in November 2023
- DSNY does not anticipate needing additional funding beyond the 21 new positions

Does DSNY anticipate any additional funding need or expanded head count beyond the 21 positions to meet the full demand for precision cleaning across all five boroughs?

So I think one of the things we look for is seeing how much of the conditions that we've cleaned.
0:50:09
So current fiscal year '25 to date, we've cleaned, 6,600 over 66 I'm sorry.
0:50:16
6,600 locations.
0:50:19
So I think as we look at last year, we cleaned 1,600 locations.
0:50:23
So we we're gonna analyze last data, compare it to this year's fiscal year cleaning locations and see, you know, has it been efficient, has it been productive, and again use the mobile field collection app and see if that gives any insight on effectiveness of these locations.

So the FY '26 restores the peg made in November 2023, so therefore we do not anticipate any additional funding for that.
