My constituents continue to raise concern about the lack of coordination between DOT and MTA at the Saint George Ferry Terminal.
2:25:47
Riders regularly miss their connections.
2:25:50
The Saint George Ferry Terminal on in Whitehall and on the Staten Island side is one of the city's most important transportation hubs, and this poor condition is undermining the daily commutes of thousands of residents.
2:26:02
In addition, the ferry ramps and the exit areas in the Saint George Ferry Terminal are filthy.
2:26:07
They reek of all kinds of insanity, and and despite no clear there's no clear smoking rules, whether it's marijuana, whether it's cigarettes with there should be signage there that clearly say that you cannot do that.
2:26:21
These areas have also become hotspots for homeless and even criminal activity.
2:26:25
And this is Staten Island's front porch, and it should be clean.
2:26:28
It should be safe.
2:26:28
It should be welcoming.
2:26:30
So I ask when can Staten Island expect a better coordination between DOT and and the MTA to fix these systemic issues, and when will DOT take a meaningful action when it comes to cleanup and the maintenance of the terminal both inside and out?
2:26:44
Thank you.
2:27:17
any thousand people a day.
2:27:38
We'll follow-up with a walk through.
2:27:39
Yes?
2:27:40
Yep.
2:27:40
One more question, very quickly.
2:27:42
Staten Island doesn't have Citi Bike and we should.
2:27:49
It was really This is an equity issue.
2:27:51
Every single program should have a five borough participation.
2:27:55
So we would I'd love to talk about getting a Citi Bike on Staten Island as well.
2:28:00
Thank you,
2:28:41
Thank you so much.
2:28:42
Thank you.
Ydanis Rodriguez
2:26:45
Yep.
2:26:46
Quality life is a top priority for mayor Eric Adams.
2:26:50
And as we have the 500 blocks that we've been doing coordination work between NYPT or the agency on enforcing in those block.
2:26:59
I'm more than happy also to bring that site to that 500 block and see anything that we can do.
2:27:05
You are so lucky to represent the area.
2:27:07
You know, it's Darting Island.
2:27:08
It had, like, 18,000,000 ridership last year.
2:27:13
Its number continue increasing.
2:27:14
It's the largest ferry that we have in
2:27:19
Yeah.
2:27:19
So and anything that we can do.
2:27:21
And and, again, I know all about action more than war, and that's what I told Rick to remind me to follow with the council member there and with you too.
2:27:28
But I want to see how we can talk to the team, you know, from the deputy mayor of public safety and all the agency to look and address.
2:28:04
president of the Staten Island University in Rosyne.
2:28:07
Right?
2:28:08
They're doing a good job.
2:28:09
One of the thing that they're looking to do is a pilot project to provide bike through a pilot project to the student that they go around all those acres of the university.
2:28:22
For mayor Eric Adams, Titan Island is not the forgotten board anymore.
2:28:27
So definitely, our commitment is to connect all community with city bike and micro mobility so that all New Yorkers should be able to move by car, by train, by bus, city bike and micro mobility.
